This week in class, we’re reading "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment" by Nathaniel Hawthorne.
Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864) was an American short story writer and novelist who was born and raised in Salem, Massachusetts. In "Dr. Heidegger's Experiment," a doctor claims to have found the Fountain of Youth.
As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Beauty & Happiness and Growing Up as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :
"Why should we value our youth?" and "How can we achieve happiness?"
