This week in class, we’re reading "Fish Cheeks" by Amy Tan.

In “Fish Cheeks,” which is about a Chinese American girl who feels embarrassed by her family during dinner, Tan explores how culture can be essential to a person’s identity.

As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Friendship & Family, Growing Up, and Identity as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :
