This week in class, we’re reading "Her Story" by Padma Venkatraman.
In "Her Story," a young Indian American girl knows there is safety in numbers, but leaves the new girl to navigate dangerous waters alone.
As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Community, Loneliness & Isolation, Prejudice & Discrimination, and Social Pressure as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :
"What is the importance of community?", "What does it mean to feel alone?", "What are the effects of following the crowd?", and "What are the effects of prejudice?"
