This week in class, we’re reading "Sweet, Difficult Sounds" by I.M. Desta.

In "Sweet Difficult Sounds," a young girl who immigrated to America from Zimbabwe struggles with confidence as she adjusts to her new school environment.

As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Fear & Paranoia, Loneliness & Isolation, and Resilience & Success as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :
