Parent Guide > Drying Out
Welcome to the parent guide for this text! Read below to find out about what your child is reading in class and how you can support him/her at home.
This week in class, we’re reading "Drying Out" by Cynthia Rylant.
Despite losing what he cared about most, a veteran with a drinking problem finds the will to keep going after finding some unexpected friends.
As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Identity, Love, and Resilience & Success as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :
"Can you change your identity?", "How are we changed by love?", and "How does a person overcome adversity?"
