This week in class, we’re reading "HERS; A Puerto Rican Stew" by Esmeralda Santiago.

In "HERS; A Puerto Rican Stew," Esmeralda Santiago reflects on her identity and sense of self as she prepares to cook a Latin American dish.  

As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Community and Identity as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :

"What is the importance of community?" and "What makes you who you are?"
