Welcome to the parent guide for this text! Read below to find out about what your child is reading in class and how you can support him/her at home.

This week in class, we’re reading "Ladybug Law" by Ellen Feldman.

In "Ladybug Law," four second-graders show that kids can make a difference when they get the ladybug appointed as the state insect of North Dakota.

As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Community, Growing Up, Resilience & Success, and Social Change & Revolution as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :

"What is the importance of community?", "Why should we value our youth?", "Why do people succeed?", and "How do people create change?"
