This week in class, we’re reading "Our Red Road" by Donovan Kūhiō Colleps.

In "Our Red Road," a Hawaiian speaker describes his feelings as he cares for an elder suffering from dementia in her final days.

As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Community, Death, Friendship & Family, and Identity as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :

"What is the importance of community?", "How do people face death?", "What makes a family?", and "What makes you who you are?"
