Parent Guide > Sandwiched in Between
Welcome to the parent guide for this text! Read below to find out about what your child is reading in class and how you can support him/her at home.
This week in class, we’re reading "Sandwiched in Between" by Eric Smith.
In "Sandwiched in Between," a Palestinian American teenager brings his girlfriend to meet his adoptive white family on Thanksgiving.
As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Friendship & Family, Identity, and Love as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :
"What makes a family?", "What makes you who you are?", and "How are we changed by love?"
