This week in class, we’re reading "Southpaw" by Judith Viorst.
In "Southpaw" two friends argue over whether girls should be allowed to play on a baseball team.
As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Friendship & Family, Gender Roles, and Social Pressure as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :
"What is a friend?", "How do we define the roles of men and women?", and "What are the effects of following the crowd?"
