This week in class, we’re reading "The Child" by J. Patrick Lewis.
In J. Patrick Lewis' poem "The Child," a speaker describes the childhood experiences of the Civil Rights activist Sylvia Mendez.
As we read, we will be discussing the themes of Prejudice & Discrimination and Resilience & Success as they relate to the text. We are trying to answer these big questions :
